Applied Inspection Ltd was formed in March 1984 offering a high-quality non-destructive NDT service to industry; rapidly gaining a reputation for being one of the most highly qualified NDT companies in the UK. The company soon acquired a customer base covering a very wide range of industries both in this country and overseas. The company has expanded in both size and the range of services offered. The company now operates out of three principal sites – Chesterfield, Burton on Trent and Ossett, West Yorkshire, with a satellite site in Glasgow.

The primary strength of the company is the supply of NDT services to a diverse and demanding range of markets, including:

Power Generation, Petro Chemical, Construction, Aerospace, Foundry, Nuclear, Fabrication and the Rail Industry.

In recent years the additional services of in house and on site welding and materials testing have been added; along with consultancy services in the areas of quality assurance, supplier assessment and welding, training, metallurgy and rope access.

Our mission is to continue investing in the training and development of our full time staff to ensure our service level is consistently of the highest standard.

We are currently involved in a number of European backed, non destructive testing research projects in collaboration with organisations such as TWI, British Energy Plc, Shell UK and Sheffield University.

Applied Inspection has an impressive overseas work portfolio – and has carried out work in the following countries – Austria, Azerbaijan, Bahrain, Bangladesh,  Barbados, China, Czech Republic, Egypt, France, Germany, Greece, Holland, Hungary, India, Iran, Ireland, Italy, Jersey, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, Nigeria, Norway, Oman, Portugal, Qatar, Russia, South Africa, South Korea, Spain, Trinidad, USA.

Applied Inspection holds many quality approvals including accreditation to meet the requirements of BS EN ISO 9001:2008 through the British Standards Institute for the provision of in house and on site NDT services. Applied Inspection Ltd also holds accreditation through the British Institute of NDT in accordance with railway group standards RIS-2701-RST for site and laboratory services for Non Destructive Testing of safety critical components on rail vehicles and Link Up Accreditation.

Applied Inspection Inc. was acquired by Acuren in July of 2015.
